Natural parks are declared to be areas comprising diverse ecosystems with a variety of plant and animal species and their habitats, with characteristic and remarkable landscapes and objects of inanimate nature. Nature parks are managed with the aim of:
- Maintaining the diversity of ecosystems and conserving their biodiversity
- Providing opportunities for the development of scientific, educational and recreational activities
- Sustainable use of renewable natural resources while preserving traditional forms of livelihood and providing conditions for the development of tourism
In nature parks are prohibited: clear-cutting in all forests, introduction of plant and animal species not native to the area, grazing of goats except in designated areas, collection of fossils and minerals, damage to rock formations, water pollution, bivouacking and campfires outside designated areas, extraction of minerals, collection of rare, endemic, relict and protected species except for scientific purposes, extraction of resources from the sea by dredging and trawling.
